Love at first sight (Chapter 4)

The love between Paul and Mary grew tremendously. Mary had also graduated from high school and that gave them enough time to be around each other while they waited for admission into the tertiary institution. Their relationship was so intriguing. When you see how Mary and Paul flow like love birds, you get motivated to be involved in such a wonderful relationship. They shared ideas, helped each other where necessary and were always there for each other. One could hardly see Paul without Mary at any given time.

Due to the intimacy surrounding their relationship, they had to apply to the same tertiary institution. Mary’s parent wanted her to go to another tertiary institution outside the state so that she could get additional exposure. Mary on the other hand refused because she would always want to be with Paul. This difference in options caused some problems between Mary’s parent and Paul. It almost killed the love they had for Paul and his people, but at last everything that was responsible for the misunderstanding between both families were resolved and things went back to the beautiful flow of good rapport between both families.

On Sunday morning, my parents decided that we should fellowship at a nearby station which was about fifteen minutes drive away from our own station. I could see the disappointment in Paul 's eyes when he heard that. He never wanted to go outside the station that day because Mary was to meet him that day in the house. Somehow, Paul succeeded in convincing everybody just to let him stay back and at the end, he succeeded. He waved us goodbye and wished us safe movement as we drove off.

My ears were filled when we came back. Paul and Mary had the whole house to themselves all through that day. According to Paul, Mary came over to the house at about 11:30GMT and stayed with him for almost three hours. Paul welcomed her with a dearly huge. The type that lasted for five minutes, during which Mary expressed how much love she had for Paul. These were her word; “Paul I can’t stay an hour without thinking about you. You mean the whole world to me and I can’t live without you for you are my all in all, I love you”. After she had finished her statement, she kissed Paul.

When I heard that part, I knew I had definitely missed a scene. Mary asked for more and when she was satisfied she said “Paul you are so sweet’’. Paul was so glad to finally get his expected kiss; his face was filled with smiles as he told me his story. For a moment, I wished to be in Paul’s shoe. Maybe my mind was unconsciously occupied with jealousy but I had to overcome that thought. While I discussed with mum in the kitchen as she was cooking. I could hear Paul talking on phone with Mary and in my mind I prayed they continue that way for a long time and possibly forever.
